Grant for Student Engineering Development Projects
The project is funded from the state budget through research and development funding resources.

Project short description:
We are developing sail shape measurement technology. Currently, our system can only be applied on certain sailboats. Within the scope of this project, we will eliminate this limitation and upgrade the system to a form suitable for absolutely any sailboat!

Project objective:
To create a sail shape measurement system that is compatible with any sail.

Project outcome:
A system at TRL 7 level will be completed, consisting of a central unit and at least two sail devices, enabling sail data measurement under all conditions on any sail.

Grant amount: €99,899.45
Development grant
Trimsense has developed a unique technology for determining sail shape and position, unmatched globally. During the development process, a significant amount of intellectual property has been created, which, thanks to the support, is now protected (a patent application has been submitted to the EPO).

Project short description:
Before the implementation of the project, the technology and the accompanying intellectual property had been developed over four years without protection. In cooperation with Moosedog patent attorneys, a patent application was prepared and filed with the EPO. As a result of the project, a completely novel and unique sail shape measurement device is protected by patent.

Project objective:
To patent the sail shape measurement device in order to protect intellectual property and strengthen market position.

Project outcome:
In August 2024, an application was submitted to the EPO to patent the sail shape measurement system.

Grant amount: €5,644
